This Pinot from Romania is deliciously fresh and juicy. Full of black cherry, raspberry and cinnamon. It’s a wonderfully fruity, light and approachable Pinot Noir. And it’s incredible value at a price traditional Pinot Noir regions like Burgundy could never offer. Try slightly chilled.
Intense ripe dark fruits with a savoury edge, a little toasty oak and a long firm tannic finish. Serve with a rare striploin steak, roast lamb or something other equally substantial dish. A very good red wine, with a nice quality of fruit, and very keenly priced too.
I Lauri’s estate grapes produce this fine example of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo every vintage. The name Bajo (Bay) given to their town’s most important street comes from the hair color of some horses. Select vineyards with stony and calcareous soil are carefully managed to produce this classic wine. This vibrant red from Abruzzo displays a violet color and an intense bouquet of ripe red fruit, finely framed with spices.
